Hello! I am on spring break, and it is good, and it is much-needed. It’s been an intensely productive break: I ran and exercised every day, wrote a 15-page Faulkner paper on The Unvanquished, wrote, er, most of a 15-page Milton paper on the seraph Abdiel, started research for my 8-10 page paper on Nietzsche, society, and myth, visited friends in Charlotte, read ALL of Paradise Lost, as well as various other books, listened to ridiculous amounts of music, and slept like a log.

I kind of ended up liking Paradise Lost more than I thought I would. I’d read several books of it before but not the whole thing because, well, it was somewhat daunting, and I figured I’d have to read it for a class eventually anyway. But I must admit, I have misjudged Milton. My apologies, John. He knows his stuff, even if he is kind of nuts.

I got most of my midterm grades in, and everything looks fine except for Russian History, where I got a B. *glares sternly at self* The situation will be rectified. I’m hoping getting ahead in the paper game will help with that.

I also read How to Be a Pirate by Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, which was as light of a read as you can get and just the thing for post-midterm blahs. Right now I’m working on Many Waters by Madelein L’Engle, and it is AMAZING. She is such a creative writer. I know just enough Hebrew to know when she’s flinging words around, which is nice. Her interpretation of Scripture is kinda squirrely sometimes, but it certainly makes for fascinating reading.

Ok, the innernets.
